Ok,

this scene is a test play to get stone have a weathered look. The grass
still needs much work, but it's there just because I needed _some_
background. All the other textures need still some work too, but that's
something I'm working on right now. I am quite satisfied for the cracks
and the modelling of the column. The colors right now are a bit
comic-like, but much better comparing to being just too plain. According
to photos, for example the ancient roman columns are not so white
today... <http://data.GreatBuildings.com/gbc/images/cid_967337.jpg>.

If I manage to get these done in time, they will end up to my IRTC
entry. I am quite badly out of any spare time, tough, so I think I will
not make it.

This scene was inspired by Petri Hiltunen's fantasy world Borvaria,
which has been setting for some of his comic books and strips this far
and is right now out as role playing game named Praedor. Unfortunately
it's all in finnish, but you can have a look at example strip at
<http://www.magus-lehti.com/galleria/Praedor.htm>.

The column is completely modelled as ISO surfaces made by hand, and the
grass is smooth polygon mesh made with a little Java program. As you can
see, some of the cracks in the column are "real" and some of them are
just normal surface tricks. I am trying to figure out whether the real
ones are really worth the enormous tracing time, but so it seems.
